We had a great start to our Learning from Nonna program with Year 11 Mill Park students joining us at LLLC to learn about traditional food preservation methods from our Italian senior community. After a short introduction from Maria, and a great discussion about our cultural heritage and what we’ve learnt from our grandparents, the students started with a simple cucumber pickle with great results. So Easy and so delicious! Next time, we will be salting eggplant and capsicum overnight, then washing them in vinegar then packing them in oil! Yum. We welcome the Year 12 students on alternative weeks! And thanks to DPV Health for funding this great activity!
